Thanks for visiting my site. I am an Oakland-based furniture-maker and craftsperson.
I came to woodcraft as an adult, never having taken shop class as a kid, and like many 21st century office workers who find delight or solace in creative endeavors, I was transfixed by the power of making things by hand. I discovered new purpose in the pursuit of craftsmanship and in a transformative connection to the physical world, and became determined to make it my life’s work.
I design and build custom pieces on commission, limited production runs of small goods and simple furniture forms, and as many pieces for my home as I have time for (so, not as many as I’d like!). In addition to my own practice, I teach woodworking to beginner- and intermediate-level adult students.
When I’m not in the shop, I am usually watching NBA games with my partner, snuggling fruitlessly with my indifferent cat, carousing with friends, or writing crossword puzzles.
